Hi,
I'm Jeremy and I work at CU
Online as the "Web and Marketing" coordinator. My job responsibilities
are exactly as you'd guess; managing CU Online's web and marketing
efforts.
Before I get into that, let's
digress a bit and I'll tell you how I got here. I'm originally
from Phoenix, Arizona. Strangely enough, I developed a strong
interest in snowboarding. So, I left Phoenix and traveled a whopping
200 miles north to Flagstaff, Arizona and pursued snowboarding
full time while obtaining a Bachelors in Business Administration
with an emphasis in Promotional Marketing at Northern
Arizona University part time. Not fulfilled with the 150 average
inches of snow a year that Snowbowl
receives, I decided to move to Tahoe, California after graduation
and once again pursue snowboarding. That is, until I landed a
last minute advertising internship with SRP.
While snowboarding was on
hold, the internship proved valuable. While working closely
with the in-house ad department and C-K,
one of the biggest advertising agencies in Phx, I developed
a strong passion for Advertising. I gained invaluable skills
in design, print, media, and THE WEB. I was hooked! I began
focusing all my energy in learning every thing I could about
web design. This led me to a small promising "dot-com" startup.
I was hired on at azevictions.com
as a production supervisor, which translates to: "I'm responsible
for everything". Wearing so many hats was a good thing. I was
able to apply my business education, advertising experience, and
dabble in database and administrative technologies. The "promising
dot-com" slowly began to lose it's promise, so my wife and I picked
up and moved to Denver. Why exactly? Because it wasn't 120 degrees
most of the year and I wanted snow!
On to Denver. First thing
I did was purchase a season pass and loved it, even though
you Coloradians said it was a bad year. Second thing was
get a job. While interviewing and consulting with a few
"promising dot-coms" I came across my current job at CU
Online, applied, got it, and never looked back.
Now, back to my job description
and responsibilities. Once again, I'm able to wear many
hats. I'm always applying my business, marketing, and advertising
knowledge to expand CU Online, in addition to researching,
learning, and applying new technologies for the website,
multimedia projects, and online courses.
Feel free to contact me with any questions, suggestions,
or snow reports.
