Welcome!
The role of the librarian has changed. As “information scientists” and “knowledge managers”, librarians know what the information age truly means. They have become the needed information mentor.
This accredited UCD Master of Arts in Library program integrates:
- Information and learning strategies
- Courses on school library management
- Collection development
- Collaborative planning
- Instructional design and instructional leadership topics
Why This School Library Program?
This is the only Colorado Library program that is endorsed through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), which makes it the only online Colorado Library program that is endorsed as well. However, since UCD is still a traditional brick and mortar university, your professors are still accessible if you have any questions and want to meet face-to-face.
The high attention-to-detail in the curriculum allows you to upgrade your knowledge in:
- Technology
- Learning curriculums
- Human development
- Applied know-how of learning institutions
Program Summary
The School Library curriculum is structured so the courses you take concurrently complement each other, while next semester’s courses build on what you’ve already learned. It typically takes two years to complete the program in a sample cohort.
