UCD's Nonprofit Management Certificate is an efficient and streamlined program that can help you hone real world skills in the areas of nonprofit organizational management and public policy.

This program integrates information for the development of nonprofit management competencies as recognized by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council’s Curricular Guidelines.

Why This Nonprofit Program?

No nonprofit operates in a vacuum and the School of Public Affairs takes a holistic approach to nonprofit management. You will not only learn the fundamentals of nonprofit fundraising, management and policy – you will be exposed to the greater context of public affairs and learn how the nonprofit sector relates to- and works with - both the private and public sectors.

The Nonprofit Management Certificate at the School of Public Affairs includes:

  • Specific core courses in nonprofit management and finance.
  • Elective courses that meet your career objectives in: human resources, grant writing, social entrepreneurship, policy, nonprofit boards and strategic management.
  • The School of Public Affairs is ranked in the top 12% of programs in the country by US News and World Report.
  • The nonprofit management certificate may be used towards a Master of Public Administration degree – also available online via the nation’s oldest MPA.

Program Requirements

This certificate requires the successful completion of 15 credit hours in courses designed for the nonprofit concentration.

You can complete this certificate as a non-degree seeking student, which means that you only need to fill out the non-degree application. However, you must have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent to be accepted to the program.
