Welcome!
The International College at Beijing (ICB) was established in 1994 as an educational partnership between China Agricultural University (CAU) and the University of Colorado Denver (UCD). The agreement reached between UCD and Chinese educational authorities, which led to the creation of the International College of Beijing, is now recognized as being among the first bilateral educational programs authorized by the Chinese government. ICB/UCD offers a carefully designed program leading to a baccalaureate degree from UCD to Chinese students. The courses are taught in English and cover the same subject matter as the courses taught on the UCD downtown Denver Campus. Currently, this unique educational program offers degrees in Communications and Economics. The degree program was accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) of the United States in fall 1995.
China Agricultural University, which houses the ICB program, has recently been named a top-twenty research institution by the People's Republic of China. The student population at CAU is 8,100, divided between its east and west campuses. CAU undergraduate students can earn degrees in 47 different programs in five subject areas: biology and life science; engineering and technology; resources and environmental science; economic and social development; and information and computer science. Master's, doctorate and post-doctorate degrees are also available in the above areas. The International College at Beijing is one of 18 independent colleges and schools at CAU.
ICB is located on the east campus of China Agricultural University, located in the Haidian district north of downtown Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China. The campus is a thirty-minute ride from downtown Beijing, Beijing International Airport and major cultural centers like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace.
